Enterprise Messaging Gateway
Yes, you can, however, there is an extra charge to send SMS text messages to carriers beyond Sprint. When registering for your EMG account you will need to indicate your need to send to other carriers and provide a Sprint mobile number for charging the inter-carrier message fees.
No, the Enterprise Messaging Gateway is only allowed to be used for business communication to employees and or contractors. Sending messages other than to your own employees and or contractors is considered by Sprint to be “mobile content” and those messages are not eligible for access through our EMG. The EMG is intended only for use by Sprint’s active enterprise accounts to send SMS text messages to their employees and contractors with information such as service call notifications, job locations, and similar information as part of their normal work duties. If you wish to restrict your messages to only your own employees, please let us know and we will continue to process your request.
- For general business and personal use, we support SMS via email using email@example.com and a web tool called ZipWhip which can be accessed via https://zipwhip.sprint.com/ using your My Sprint credentials.
- For mobile content providers (those sending informational alerts or sending notifications to customers) we recommend Pinsight Media, our preferred mobile data company that connects brands with audiences through data-driven mobile media solutions. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more.
If you have issues or questions during initial set-up email email@example.com for support. After initial setup, support for the EMG is provided through the normal Sprint Customer Care channels.
